You're A Badass Gal Playlist

Last week I spent five nights in New Orleans for our company’s yearly convention. The first day was kicked off by a leadership summit that I earned along with the rest of the top 2% of the company. The second day was the kickoff to our company-wide convention where we had multiple days of general sessions, where everyone attended, and smaller breakout sessions. The breakout sessions consisted of multiple trainers, both internal and external, and I chose to sit in on one of the sessions that Rachel Hollis was presenting.

One of the topics she covered was the importance of getting your body energized to do the things we don’t want to do but need to do. She shared that it’s not about wanting to do something, it’s about getting yourself out of your current state. We are used to feeling crappy, so we don’t easily get out of the current state we are in, but we have to make better choices to attain the things we want for ourselves. To gain the energy we need to make s%$t happen we have to make energy and take care of our bodies. Ways of doing that are eating good food, drinking water, getting enough sleep, and moving.

Rachel then turned on Beyonce’s song Run The World (Girls) and had everyone hop out of their seat and dance. We all sat and she did it again, again, and again. The song got us all out of our seats, pumped us all up, got blood flowing, and energy rolling through us.

That was when she shared with us the importance of having a ‘Badass Play List’ to play when you need to get yourself motivated to do the do.

I asked a whole bunch of badass women in my network what songs get them fired up and energized. I wrote them all down in one of my many handy dandy notebooks and added their suggestions to a Spotify playlist.
